In 2013, FM Expressions, a custom screen print and DTF heat transfers company, connected with Spectrum Works to create an autism employment program. Spectrum Works is a nonprofit dedicated to creating job opportunities for autistic individuals whose talents and potential in the workplace are often overlooked and underestimated.
“We are proud to be a part of this movement to make the workforce more inclusive and welcoming to autistic individuals who bring unique skills and perspectives to any company,” says FM Expressions in a press release. “As a result of our program, nine other companies in various industries have started the autism employment program. All companies, small and large, can make an impact. You can consider hiring someone on the spectrum and spread the word that autistic individuals can be valued employees.”
Through FM Expression’s partnership with Spectrum Works and the support of its customers, the company has been able to train and employ approximately 100 autistic individuals in its workplace every year. This collaboration has allowed FM Expressions to produce more than 125,000 sample packs and process more than 10,000 art files annually, as well make a real difference in the lives of the employed autistic individuals.
