The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF), a not-for-profit, private, industry-directed organization that dispenses assistance to youth interested in graphic communications careers and pursuing education at technical colleges and universities, has announced the Pacific Printing Industries Education Trust endowed scholarship for students attending institutions of higher learning in the Graphic Arts fields. This endowment will help students in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii pay for their education at one of the many institutions that help to train the future workforce for the industry.
“The PPI Educational Trust is excited to work with PGSF to help attract new people into the print industry,” says Chris Feryn, chairperson of the PPI Educational Trust. “Our board works with numerous great printing companies across the Northwest and sees the great career opportunities those companies have. Printing is still very much alive.”
The scholarship application process is now open to full- and part-time students. Evaluation of the applications begins in June; scholarships are awarded in August. Scholarships will automatically renew for students maintaining a 3.0 GPA, according to the release.
